Global Operations Update
“This quarter, our Group Head of Operations has been spending more time in the US to help the team ramp up for Peak and strengthen their local capabilities.
A few members of our Operations team also travelled to Venlo in the Netherlands to support performance improvements there. Earlier in the quarter, members of our UK Goods In team were also deployed to Venlo to help increase Goods In throughput. It’s another great example of collaboration across our sites.
In the US, the team has secured additional capacity and storage ahead of Peak, ensuring we’ve got the right stock profiles in the right places.”
Operational Wins
“Q2 brought some challenges, particularly with volume fluctuations and unpredictable demand. The team responded brilliantly by cross-training staff, moving resources between departments where needed, and maintaining smooth operations throughout.
We’ve mirrored that flexibility internationally too, sending team members to other sites when extra hands were needed. It’s a strategy that’s worked well in previous years, and we’re continuing it because it drives consistency and resilience.”
Peak 2025 Preparation
“Preparation for Peak is already well underway. We’ve reviewed agency recruitment targets, presented our Peak plan to the Senior Leadership Team, and ensured every department and site is aligned.
Some teams, like Assemblies, have already entered their Peak season, which includes building SKUs, advent calendars, and bundles for clients in the lead-up to the holidays.”
Infrastructure and Security Enhancements
“We’ve expanded our high-value storage capability significantly this quarter.
Previously, we had one secure high-value cage on the ground floor. Now, thanks to the Infrastructure team, we’ve added two more; one on level two and one on level four. Each is fingerprint-access controlled and equipped with full CCTV coverage.
This not only boosts secure storage capacity but also improves picking efficiency by allowing teams to pick directly from their assigned levels.”
Team Recognition
“A huge shout-out goes to the Goods In team. From team leaders to every member of staff, they’ve been exceptional.
They’ve been dealing with the early Peak rush since late August, managing dozens of containers each week while maintaining a smooth flow through receiving, processing, and putaway — even with limited space on the floor. Their professionalism and teamwork have been outstanding.”
Looking Ahead
“As we close out Q2, the focus is on completing the Goods In Peak — ensuring all client stock is on shelf and ready for Black Friday.
We’re also onboarding new recruits and continuing to bring new clients on board through our Peak Fast Track Programme, which allows brands joining us close to Peak to go live in record time, ensuring they’re fully operational for the busiest period of the year.”
Thanks for watching
That’s it for this edition of our Quarterly Round-Up. We’ll touch base again next quarter to provide an update on how Peak 2025 went, and share some exciting projects we’ve got in the works through 2026.
