One of the UK’s leading ecommerce fulfilment specialists, J&J® Global Fulfilment, has been sold to QLS, a Netherlands-based eCommerce fulfilment specialist. The acquisition follows a highly successful five years of rapid growth that has seen revenues grow by 415% to £74 million and annual orders increase from 2.1 million to 8.5 million.

J&J® Global Fulfilment is Europe’s largest independent eCommerce fulfilment provider, supporting more than 350 high-growth mid-sized brands and online retailers. Powered by ControlPort™ and CommandPort™, J&J®’s proprietary warehouse management system and cloud-based fulfilment software, the business is able to fulfil and track orders in real time.

Over the last five years, J&J® has expanded internationally, opening new fulfilment centres in Europe, the USA, Australia and Canada, leading to an increased workforce with a headcount of 470 members of staff. In addition, J&J has invested in an award-winning company culture. The business is certified as a Disability Confident workplace and has been named Employer of the Year at the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards. It has also been recognised by several prestigious UK awards programmes, including the Elite Business 100 (EB100) Awards.

Looking to the future, this acquisition and investment by QLS means J&J® can continue its growth trajectory. This has already begun with the recent expansion of the Columbus fulfilment centre to a second site and the introduction of new fulfilment integrations into the tech platform. CEO Emma Dempsey, alongside the rest of J&J’s management team, will continue to lead the business as part of the QLS Group.

Emma Dempsey, CEO of J&J Global Fulfilment, said: “We have focused our efforts over the last five years on international growth, enhancing our award-winning software and developing the culture in the business. Thanks to the acquisition from QLS, we are now perfectly positioned to seize this new opportunity and drive forward further growth.

Our aim is to become a true partner to the businesses we work with, going beyond a standard fulfilment provider. We’re very excited to be able to enhance our offering further, all while remaining focused on the world-class service and solutions that our clients have come to expect.”

Quincy Boogers, Ceo at QLS, added: “By adding J&J Global Fulfilment, we strengthen our position and can help our customers grow further. Together, we are creating a fulfilment network that combines scale, speed and quality.”
