It all began in 2010, when James Hyde and James Strachan couldn’t find a satisfactory fulfillment solution for their eCommerce business. Faced with grubby warehouses running on out-dated systems, they decided to build their own. Since then, James and James Fulfilment has become the definitive standard for eCommerce fulfillment. We’ve dragged a traditional industry into the 21st century, with our award-winning, cloud-based order fulfillment software.

Today, our mission is to to create a worldwide network that continually improves eCommerce fulfillment, enabling brands to reach their full potential. Below are a few milestones we’ve reached on our journey so far. If you’d like to be part of our next adventure, check out our jobs board.

  • We join the FT1000

    We’re ranked #547 on the FT1000 – the Financial Times’ list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies. We’re one of 54 eCommerce companies to make the list, which is topped by a food delivery start-up for the second year running.

  • We join the Inc. 5000

    Inc. magazine ranks us at #1,688 on its annual Inc. 5000 list – the most prestigious ranking of Europe’s fastest-growing private companies. Organisations such as Microsoft, Domino’s Pizza, Timberland and LinkedIn all gained their first exposure as members of the list.

  • Our US fulfilment centre opens

    We open our US fulfilment centre in Columbus, Ohio. Located within 10 hours’ drive of half the US population and close to major airports and railway terminals, it offers an ideal location to distribute within the USA and North America.

  • Our Australasian fulfilment center opens

    We open our Australasian fulfilment centre in Auckland, New Zealand in partnership with New Zealand Post. For businesses that are seeking to grow in Australasia, it offers fast access to New Zealand, Australian and Asian markets.

  • We move our HQ to Northampton

    We move our headquarters and UK fulfilment centre from Cambridge to Northampton. Our new location on the Brackmills Industrial Estate brings us within close proximity of UK national hubs and international airports.

  • The Queen recognises us for innovation

    We’re awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the field of innovation, recognising our unique, technology-focused approach to eCommerce. Publicly announced every year on 21 April – the Queen’s birthday – the awards have previously been given to DPD, BT and Siemens.

  • ControlPort is launched

    We unveil ControlPort – our cloud-based order fulfilment software for clients. With a clean, friendly interface, it includes new filter tools, allowing instant and accurate data mining of orders and inventory.

  • We’re recognised by two awards

    We’re shortlisted in the “Delivery or Fulfilment Innovation of the Year” category at the BT Retail Week Tech & Ecomm Awards. We’re also awarded a Certificate of High Commendation in the “Innovation Technology Award” category at the SHD Logistics Awards.

  • We’re shortlisted for two awards

    We’re shortlisted for the annual European Supply Chain Excellence Awards for our innovative e-fulfilment services. We’re also named as a finalist in the “Best Innovation in eCommerce Delivery/Logistics” category at the eCommerce Excellence Awards.

  • The Soil Association certifies us

    Our UK fulfilment centre becomes one of the few in the world to be organic certified by the Soil Association. This allows us to process both retail and trade orders that contain organic products, such as foods, supplements, cosmetics, skincare, hair products and soaps.

  • We’re a disruptive force ecommerce fulfilment

    The new company quickly becomes a disruptive force in eCommerce fulfilment, dragging a traditional industry into the 21st century through its innovated, cloud-based technology. It grows 300% year-on-year for two years running.

  • James and James Fulfilment is born

    When James Hyde and James Strachan can’t find a satisfactory fulfilment solution for their eCommerce business, they decide to build their own. James and James Fulfilment is born, and sets about disrupting the traditional fulfilment industry.
