Flagship Update
Meet Seymour — your AI assistant inside ControlPort [BETA]
We’re excited to introduce Seymour, a brand-new AI assistant built directly into ControlPort.
Currently in beta, Seymour helps you find answers faster, whether you’re locating a customer order, checking inventory levels, or reviewing ASNs. It’s designed to reduce time spent navigating menus or raising support tickets, giving you instant access to key data right when you need it.
If you’ve used our chatbot on Zendesk before, Seymour takes that same concept and brings it into ControlPort, while also retaining its ability to answer general queries about J&J processes and information.
Your fulfilment data, now conversational
With Seymour, you can ask questions in plain English and get instant answers pulled directly from ControlPort data.
Example queries include:
- “What’s the status of [customer name]’s order?”
- “How many items are in order [order number]?”
- “How much of [product name] do I have left?”
- “Do any of my orders have issues?”
At launch, Seymour covers order, product, and inventory information, and we’ll be expanding its knowledge to Insights and Returns in future updates.
Instant answers, no waiting
Seymour provides real-time responses from your live ControlPort data, freeing you and your team to focus on fulfilment performance and operational information rather than platform navigation.
It also caches your conversation history, meaning you can pick up right where you left off, and it learns from your most common queries for smoother interactions over time.
Built with security front and centre
Seymour has been designed with security and data protection in mind. All information it provides is governed by existing ControlPort permission levels, ensuring users can only access data they’re authorised to see.
There’s also no financial data exposure or cross-client contamination, giving you peace of mind while using AI to streamline your operations.
We’re thrilled to share this first version of Seymour and will continue developing it based on feedback. Future updates will extend its capabilities across more areas of ControlPort, giving you even greater visibility, easier than ever.
Other Updates
Multi-box improvements
In July, we made a key update to our Warehouse Management System, CommandPort™, improving how multi-box orders are handled.
Previously, larger orders that were split into multiple boxes could only have a single tracking number. Now, each box within an order is assigned its own tracking number, making every item fully traceable from click to delivery.
TikTok Shop expansion
Following TikTok’s recent API update, our tech team worked quickly to ensure seamless service for existing clients, with no disruption to integrations or fulfilment.
We’re also pleased to confirm that TikTok Shop is now supported in the US! You can now connect your TikTok US store directly to ControlPort and fulfil orders from our US fulfilment centres, just as you already can in the UK and EU.
For brands already selling on TikTok UK, expanding into the US is now easier than ever.
DDP integration updates
We’ve made several improvements to our Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) integration following the De Minimis ruling and new tariffs on goods entering the US.
- Postage Estimator: Now includes estimated tariffs and duties for DDP shipments. If a carrier hasn’t been mapped for a specific Incoterm, ControlPort will flag it to help prevent order issues.
- Manual Incoterm selection: You can now manually choose whether a shipment uses DDP or DAP terms.
These updates make managing international fulfilment simpler, more transparent, and compliant with the latest trade rules.
BigCommerce variant SKU support
Our BigCommerce integration has been upgraded to fully support product variations, giving brands greater accuracy when syncing catalogue data to ControlPort.
ControlPort can now read and process variant SKUs directly from your BigCommerce store, ensuring individual variations — such as size, colour, scent, or flavour — are recognised as distinct SKUs.
Each variant remains neatly nested under its parent (primary) product within your BigCommerce catalogue, maintaining a clear and consistent product hierarchy.
Small updates and bug fixes
Alongside these major releases, we’ve made several smaller updates to improve stability, performance, and usability across ControlPort.
- Enhancement: Products can now be booked in as batches, rather than only at the product level.
- Enhancement: Our key Operational Information for Peak 2025 has been added to ControlPort to help consolidate critical information.
- Enhancement: Added returns observations to the Returns Report for greater visibility and traceability.
- Enhancement: Added the ability to download ASN detail data in bulk, saving time on large uploads.
- Enhancement: Added support for carrier preferences on Amazon SP-API channels, providing more flexibility in shipping configuration.
- Bug Fix: Resolved an error on the “Browse Received Returns” page.
- Bug Fix: Improved performance and load times on the Inventory Age Report.
That’s it for this release!
Thank you for your continued feedback. It helps us keep improving ControlPort and delivering the best possible experience for our clients.
Stay tuned for more updates as we head into Peak and beyond.
