We’re delighted to announce that James and James has featured yet again in the Financial Times’s FT1000: Fastest Growing Companies ranking, published this month!

Run annually for the last six years by the Financial Times, the list seeks to identify the top 1,000 European companies with the strongest revenue growth between 2017 and 2020. We’re proud and honored to be included again, and this time we feature at number 736 in the ranking. Our high-caliber team is devoted to giving customers the best solutions and service possible, and this achievement is a true testament to their good work. Well done and thanks for all the hard work!

To be eligible for inclusion in the FT1000 ranking, companies must show that they are an independent entity, headquartered in Europe, and able to prove strong performance and year-on-year growth. Having first featured in the ranking in 2018 and then in 2019, being recognised again in this year’s 2022 list is a fantastic demonstration of our ongoing growth. Equally, we’re also excited about what’s to come!

Succeeding in 2021

Before we look forward, though, it’s worth reflecting briefly on some of our key milestones from the last year. We invested in our UK HQ and infrastructure and expanded operational capacity with a new state-of-the-art, multi-million pound, 600,000 sq ft fulfilment centre. This included hiring upwards of 92 people across all levels, with the key hire of Emma Dempsey as our CEO, and seeing James Hyde, our Founder, transition towards a role focused on driving technology innovation, international expansion and growth.

Our UK operations and business model expanded into Europe too, to support clients’ EU eCommerce trading needs and cross-border expansion requirements. Through our new EU fulfilment centre in Venlo, the Netherlands, we are enabling retailers to adopt direct-to-consumer (D2C) eCommerce. On a daily basis, we are putting in measures that enable the brands we represent to grow and scale.

We were awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade by The Lord-Lieutenant of the County of Northamptonshire, James Saunders Watson; an accolade that supports and echoes part of the reason for inclusion within the FT1000 this year. Our team also demonstrated its commitment to employees, and won ‘Employer of the Year’ in the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards. We really have built something special at James and James, as experienced by clients and our colleagues.

Succeeding in 2022

Over the course of the next year, we’ll continue to focus on delivering the solutions and services that clients expect, to support them with their eCommerce, be it at home in the UK, or as they expand further afield with their brands internationally. As the industry continues to face a plethora of challenges, we will help brands deal with some of these macro and micro issues.

We’ll support with rebalancing supply chains post pandemic; help brands to understand, simplify and automate some of the complexity associated with trading in a post-Brexit world; and show them how artificial intelligence, and data-driven fulfilment can transform eCommerce and operations. Our team will support efforts towards achieving green commitments, and help brands deal with the perennial problem of returns within eCommerce more efficiently and cost-effectively. We’re here to enable our clients to navigate today’s eCommerce and supply chain landscape, and enable growth locally and internationally.

A word from our CEO

Our CEO, Emma Dempsey, is a proven leader with more than 25 years of experience in supply chain and logistics. Commenting on this achievement, she said: “Retailers have experienced a turbulent two years due to the pandemic, so helping our customers adapt and scale in today’s new consumer landscape through using modern eCommerce fulfilment techniques and technology has been key to our recent success. We were able to grow our client portfolio significantly in 2021, after being selected to supply outsourced fulfilment to the likes of DC Thompson and Nutravita. Attracting, retaining and growing big brand names like these would not be possible without our infrastructure and fantastic team.

“Together we offered the best solution available on the market, from the best customer service team, to some of the world’s most exciting brands in eCommerce. We went ‘above and beyond’ through the pandemic and continue to ‘wow’ clients on a daily basis. I look forward to working with our team as we continue to build on this success in 2022. Well done to our team at James and James!”
